Just over the hill from Lake Tahoe about 15 miles to the east lies the Carson Valley of Minden, Gardnerville and Genoa. The east fork of the Carson River snakes its way through the green pasturelands that open up lots of breathing room for this ranch land valley.

Tucked up against the Sierra Nevada and two other mountain ranges, the Carson Valley offers spectacular views, larger lots and awesome sunsets all year round. Heavenly Valley ski area (Nevada side) is less than 30 minutes away and Kirkwood ski area is about 45 minutes away. A number of popular golf courses with striking views are scattered throughout this rural valley.

Several townships link the north and south ends of the Carson Valley from Topaz Lake to Carson City. Along the way you will find many nice subdivisions scattered throughout. Most every location has a nice view of the mountains and/or valley and offers either rural seclusion with a country feel or close-knit neighborhoods near in-town conveniences. There’s even a small airport located in Minden.
