Two dozen members of the McQueen Choir will sing with Foreigner during the band’s performance of "I Want to Know What Love Is," at the Silver Legacy Resort Casino on Saturday, Sept. 22.

Their appearance is part of Foreigner’s long-time partnership with the Grammy Foundation, which supports music education in schools across the country.

Foreigner will donate $500 to the choir for its music program. Before the concert, members of the choir will sell a $20 greatest-hits CD set. The proceeds from the CD sales will be donated to the Grammy Foundation’s Music in the Schools program.

The performance is sold out, according to the event’s ticket sales website.

McQueen Choir Gets Ready For Foreigner Performance

The students are excited to perform with Foreigner, even though they were born almost two decades after the band's popularity in the 1980s, choir director Maribeth Burt told the Reno Gazette-Journal.

The choir also performed with the popular rock band in 2016. Some of the choir’s objectives include to “expose the students to many different and exciting types of music,” and “encourage students to work together as a team to produce an excellent product.”

"Northwest Reno is extremely fortunate to have some of the best musical programs in the country and presents a top set of programs in WCSD year in and year out," according to the McQueen Choir Parents website.

With 10 multi-platinum albums and 16 Top 30 hits, Foreigner’s album sales now exceed 75 million. The band is responsible for some of rock and roll’s most enduring anthems including “Juke Box Hero,” “Cold as Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” “Waiting for a Girl Like You,” “Feels Like the First Time,” “Urgent,” “Head Games,” “Say You Will” and the worldwide #1 hit “I Want to Know What Love Is.”

2017 marked the celebration of Foreigner’s 40th anniversary. The Warner Music Group released a double CD set “40” which includes 40 songs recorded between 1977 and 2017.
